You are cordially invited to the 20th Annivesary celebration of Club Italiano Per Piacere, on Wednesday, June 5th at Pan D'Olive Restaurant (1603 McCausland Ave, St. Louis, MO 63117). Italiano Per Piacere is the only Italian speaking club in the Midwest. On this occasion the Italian Community will also celebrate the Festa della Repubblica with Vice-Consul Giuseppe Colagiovanni as well as the 80th birthday of Franco Giannotti, now president emeritus of the club.
A special dinner will be immediately followed by a presentation by Dr Jeffrey Kurtzman, Dean of the Department of Musicology at Washington University and worldwide leading expert in Italian opera music as well as author of numerous books on the subject. Kurtzman will speak about Claudio Monteverdi's "l'incoronazione di Poppea" which will be performed by the St Louis Opera Theatre during the month of June.
