The historic, mint-green-and-mirror art deco space that houses Il Foro, the new downtown Minneapolis restaurant, is absolutely stunning. Owners Josh Thoma and Kevin Fitz-gerald of Smack Shack and the upcoming reboot of the Lexington, wisely left the former Forum Cafeteria mostly untouched.

They moved a bar and refreshed a few things, but the vintage light fixtures and gleaming wall decor remain. The new concept is Italian, with chef Joe Rolle, formerly of Borough and before that, Butcher and the Boar and Vincent, steering the kitchen.
