A Long Island man booted from his job as a deputy finance commissioner for the Town of North Hempstead announced Wednesday that he is preparing to sue the municipality because, he says, he was fired for being Italian.
Angelo Ferrara, 66, has filed a notice of claim and complaint with the state's Division of Human Rights alleging the town discriminated against him because he is an aging Italian-American male. Ferrara was ousted last January when incoming Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth was sworn into office.
