Picking up dinner from restaurants might seem inconvenient at times, but not when you hear live arias from a balcony above. Philadelphia's Victor Café has kept family musical traditions alive– even during COVID-19.
The cafe started off as a “music lovers’ rendezvous,” in the Italian neighborhood of South Philly, serving spumoni and songs on a gramophone. Since then, the DiStefano family has carried the tune of their grandfather, turning the cafe into a restaurant, with a musical wait staff of professional opera singers.
