When Tony and Cathy Mantuano met at Milwaukee’s Nantucket Shores, he was a student at UWM working in the kitchen. She worked front of the house. Food and wine brought them together, but their relationship is the foundation for everything they do.
For 35 years, Tony, the founding chef at Michelin-starred Spiaggia, kept Italian dining in the spotlight, while Cathy built the world-class wine program. Tony also worked with his family’s Kenosha restaurant, Mangia, in Kenosha until it closed in 2018, and has received a dozen nominations from the James Beard Foundation. He was named Best Chef: Midwest in 2005, and appeared on Bravo’s “Top Chef Masters.”
