Ciro Maione, the owner and proprietor of Domenic's Italian Bakery & Deli in Waltham for 36 years, has a new project in the works. Domenic's Forno is looking to open up at 75-115 Binney St. near Kendall Square in East Cambridge, the newest licensing hearing agenda reveals. Maione said via email that he "look[s] forward to sharing this exciting concept," but at this point, it's in the "predevelopment stage."
Domenic's in Waltham opened in 1979. On breads baked in-house, it offers a variety of cold and hot Italian-style sandwiches, including Manzo, with garlic roast beef, caramelized onion, gorgonzola, and arugula; Bomba, beef stuffed with marinated hots, provolone, caramelized onions, and more; and a Classic Italian with pistachio mortadella, provolone, and Genoa salami.
