It’s only one dish, but the Sicilian cannoli pizza at Raffaele’s is as good as any to describe the new upstart Waltham eatery along Restaurant Row. For starters, it’s undoubtedly Italian, using an eclectic blend of ingredients from the Mediterranean nation. But it’s also the brainchild of Lory D’Agostino, the owner and operator of the restaurant.
The decadent pizza, which can serve between four and eight people, features a traditional pizza dough as the base, and is topped with Nutella – both as the spread and inside the crust of the dough – as well as a swirl of ricotta cannoli filling with chocolate chips inside, strips of candied orange, and rich Amareno cherries.
