Italy's double Olympic champion sprinter Marcell Jacobs said Friday he will return to competition in the Roma Sprint Festival in the Italian capital on May 18. "I'll be happy if in September I shall have confirmed my two titles, the Olympic one and the European one," said the 29-year-old El Paso born athlete. "At a mental level I'm happy, I'm very relaxed and very focused on my training.
"My day to day means home-field-home, and being with my children". At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 2021, Jacobs became the first Italian to win the gold medal in the 100 metres, and the first European to win since Linford Christie won the event at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.
