Eremito, the Hotelito del Alma, meaning “little hotel of the soul,” graces the woods in the heart of a 37,400-acre natural reserve in Umbria, the land where St. Francis of Assisi communed with Brother Wolf and Sister Water.

The Chiani River flows below, and deer and wild boar inhabit the forest. Parrano, the closest village, is six miles away. With no planes flying overhead anywhere nearby, the sky is an enchanting expanse of stars and clouds.
