The Colosseum was illuminated with the colors of the Ukrainian flag as evening fell, while on February 25th, in the afternoon, Mayor Roberto Gualtieri called a torchlight procession for peace in solidarity with the Ukrainian people. The appointment will be at 6 pm in Piazza del Campidoglio from where a symbolic march for peace will start towards the Colosseum.
Rome, city of peace, mobilizes against what the Capitol defines as "the unjustifiable Russian invasion of Ukraine. We strongly condemn the attack on Ukraine. I invite all the Roman women and men to participate in the torchlight procession for peace. Let's make our presence felt in support of the Ukrainian people against an absurd and dangerous war for the future of Europe." said Mayor Gualtieri.
