Oscar winner Paolo Sorrentino's 'E' Stata La Mano Di Dio' on Tuesday got three nominations for the European Film Awards, Europe's equivalent of the Oscars. The bittersweet autobiographical work on growing up in Naples amid adulation for soccer superstar Diego Maradona is up for best film, best director and best screenplay.
It is the only Italian film to have received any EFA nominations. The award ceremony is on December 11. Sorrentino's 2013 film La Grande Bellezza (The Great Beauty) won the Academy Award, the Golden Globe and the BAFTA Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
