Today, mayoral candidate Toni Preckwinkle received the endorsement of the Italian American Political Coalition (IAPC). IAPC is an advocacy group founded in 1994 that provides a political voice for the Italian-American community (estimated to be approximately 500,000 in the Chicago area) and supports political candidates who have the community’s best interests at heart.
“Thanks to the Italian American Political Coalition for their endorsement and for joining our broad coalition to bring a new progressive vision to city hall,” said Preckwinkle. “ I look forward to working with the IAPC closely to address the issues that face not just their community, but all Chicagoans across the city.”
“Being mayor is a tough job that isn’t for the faint of heart,” said IAPC President Rocco Biscaglio. “There is only one candidate in this race who has the track record and has demonstrated the leadership to necessary to be mayor of Chicago, and that candidate is Toni Preckwinkle.”
