When she worked on Forest Avenue, Santina Distefano of Moretti’s bakery gifted cookies and biscuits to her West Brighton neighbors. Now, in her memory, the small business owner’s name has been memorialized for the North Shore community at the corner of Forest and Oakland avenues, a few steps from her long-time business.
To celebrate the moment on Saturday, Sept. 14, her children — Cinzia Leon, Massimo Devellis and Domenick Distefano threw a street festival. Sausage and peppers, hot dogs and baked goods were compliments of the Moretti house of baked goods and custom cakes.
