Mount Carmel Academy honor student Aubrie St. Germain will reign as queen of the 47th annual Italian American Marching Club's St. Joseph Parade on Saturday, March 18. The parade rolls at 6 p.m. and winds its way from the Convention Center through the French Quarter. The 17-year-old Metairie resident has been training for this regal role practically her entire life, she began riding as a maid in the St. Joseph's parade at the tender young age of 6.
"I have been riding in the parade since I was a little girl, so it's really cool that I get to be queen this year," St. Germain said. "I feel so lucky to have this chance, it is something I always wanted to do and now I can't believe it's my turn. It means so very much to me to be part of all of this. It is truly an honor I'll never forget."
