For 28 years, Victor Minichiello has run one of the most popular Italian restaurants in Williamsburg. And for the last 20 years, Sal's by Victor has been voted the best Italian restaurant in the Virginia Gazette's annual Best of Williamsburg contest.
"It's important to love what you do, from your heart," Minichiello said. "The customers are part of the group, part of the restaurant. They are the restaurant." Minichiello said everything he does is for the customers and his coworkers — he refuses to call them his employees. It's important to him that someone doesn't just come to the restaurant and enjoy the experience once, they must come back.
