A small piece of Italy came to Ferguson Park in Shinnston Saturday in the form of the fifth annual West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival Bocce Tournament. "Get in there!" competitors shouted as their team's ball rolled down the moistened dirt of the court toward a gap in other balls.
"Just bounce it off the wall and around," others shouted to their teammates. In bocce contestants throw or roll a softball-sized ball down a court toward the pallino, which looks like a cueball.
