The Department of Italian Studies at the University of California, Berkeley is hiring a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Renaissance Italian Literature (1400-1600), with a secondary specialization in gender studies and/or critical race theory. In addition, we welcome applications from candidates working on a wide variety of critical approaches, including Mediterranean studies, environmental humanities, postcolonialism, visual culture, book history, material texts, digital humanities.
The successful candidate will teach introductory and special topics courses in Renaissance Italian Literature, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and dialogue with the broader Renaissance/early modern community on campus.
