Featuring a variety of traditional and eclectic food, live music, a gala parade, competitions for people of all ages and plenty of activities, the 42nd Annual Collinsville Italian Fest takes place this weekend, beginning with a late morning opening ceremony on Sept. 18.
With nearly every component of the Italian Fest focused on the downtown area of Collinsville, Friday’s events start at noon with a grape stomping contest then continues throughout the two days with 44 vendors, representing local organizations and businesses, offering edibles and drinks that include many ethnic choices related directly to Italian cuisine along with a mix of “fun foods” and more standard fare.
