A group of students and staff from Corning-Painted Post woke up bright and early on Wednesday to travel overseas to visit their Italian Sister City. The group boarded their first plane from the Elmira-Corning Regional Airport and will end the journey in San Giovanni Valdarno.
“They have a lot for us to do every day, it’s pretty packed. But we’re going to some big cities, we’re going to Rome, and we're going to Florence for the day. We’re (also) going to a new city this year, Ferrara, which I’ve never been to. They get to see a little bit of everything, experience the culture, and get immersed in it,” said aCorning-Painted Post High School teacher and the Chairman of the Corning San Giovanni Sister Cities Committee, Tim Ball.
