Combating gender-based violence requires a coordinated approach that combines public awareness, legal protections and direct support for survivors. That was the focus of a meeting hosted by the COMITES of New York on Monday at the Consulate General of Italy in New York, bringing together institutional representatives and community advocates to address the issue from multiple perspectives.
Deputy Consul Marta Mammana opened the event, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between public institutions and community representatives. The initiative, coordinated by Ornella Fado, the committee’s vice president and head of its Communications and Events Commission, emphasized the need to move beyond theoretical discussion.
