Ettore Messina is set to launch the next chapter of his storied basketball career following his departure from Olimpia Milano. According to Walter Fuochi of La Repubblica, the veteran Italian strategist is heading back to North America to join the Atlanta Hawks in a advisory role, reuniting with head coach Quin Snyder, who previously served as Messina's assistant during his tenure at CSKA Moscow.
Unlike his previous full-time assistant coaching stints in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs, Messina’s commitment with Atlanta will not require a permanent, full-time stay in the United States. He will balance his advisory responsibilities for the Hawks with broadcasting work in Italy, serving as a television analyst for Sky Sports.
