Europe seen as an anchor of stability by a growing majority of Italians

By: We the Italians Editorial Staff

At a time of geopolitical tensions, armed conflicts, and growing economic uncertainty, Italians are expressing stronger confidence in the European Union than they have in recent years. The latest Eurobarometer survey shows that 81% of Italians now consider the European Union a place of stability in an increasingly unpredictable world, well above the EU average of 75%.

The figure marks an 11-point increase in Italy compared with the previous survey conducted in late 2025, highlighting a significant shift in public opinion. The survey suggests that international developments have reinforced the perception that European cooperation offers greater security and resilience.
