Europe’s first space lending deal gives Italian aerospace SMEs €300 million to grow

Italy’s aerospace supply chain is gaining access to €300 million in new financing through Europe’s first lending agreement combining the European Investment Bank, the European Space Agency, and a commercial bank.

The 2-year initiative was signed by Intesa Sanpaolo, the EIB, and ESA to help Italian small and medium-sized companies invest, expand production, develop new technologies, and compete more effectively in international markets. It represents the first agreement completed under the EIB–ESA Space Lending Facility.
