Italy will take centre stage on the global sporting scene as it hosts the highly anticipated Winter Olympics from February 6-22, 2026. Born out of a joint bid between Milan and the Alpine resort town of Cortina d’Ampezzo, the Games mark Italy’s third time hosting the Winter Olympics, and the first occasion the event will unfold across two cities.
Throughout February, and stretching into March for the Paralympics, Milan will stage all ice-based competitions, while Cortina and its surrounding mountain regions transform into a snow-dusted arena of slopes, spectators and ski events.
