Giro d’Italia 2026: Rome chosen for the final stage for the fourth consecutive year

In 2026, for the eighth time in the event’s history, and the fourth consecutive year, Rome will once again host the final stage of the Giro d’Italia. The final stage of the Giro d’Italia, which will conclude on May 31, will cover a total distance of 131 kilometres. The route will pass through Ostia and some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, from the Colosseum and the Baths of Caracalla to the final finish line at the Circus Maximus.

The final stage is divided into two parts. The first section takes riders from the start in Rome-EUR towards the coast and Ostia, before the first crossing of the finish line. From there, the route returns towards the starting area before entering the final circuit inside the Capital, to be repeated 8 times.
