Herbert Levine relaunches on US-Italy axis: New York heritage, Marche craftsmanship, and selective distribution

A storied American footwear house, Herbert Levine, is being revived with Italian–American capital and expertise. Founded in 1948 by Beth and Herbert Levine (she the designer; he, her husband, the commercial mind), the house reached the height of its success in the 1950s and 1960s, gracing the feet of the most famous actresses, artists, entertainers and members of the jet set – in New York and beyond – before ceasing operations in 1976.

The relaunch is very recent, thanks to private investment firm Luvanis, current CEO Gianfranco Maccarrone and entrepreneur Massimo Bonini, owner of the prestigious Milanese showroom that bears his name, where the second collection of Herbert Levine’s new chapter was unveiled.
