Rochester's biggest and most popular Italian Festival and the city's most inclusive "neighborhood celebration", the DeCecco Little Italy Festival ROC returns to Ontario Beach Park on August 15th, from Noon to 9pm, and promises to be the family event of the Summer !
The Italian culture will be on high display at Rochester's newly improved Ontario Beach Park, which features many new safety focused improvements and amenities for families and kids to enjoy, plus the park's famous historic merry-go-round, a new water spray park for kids, and the lovely nearby Port of Rochester, with scenes from beautiful Lake Ontario Beach, acting as the festival's gorgeous back drop this year.
The event will feature many local food vendors , including some of Rochester's most popular Italian restaurants like Agatina's, Capone's and Napoli's.
There will be inclusive cultural displays (cekebrating all cultures that reside in Rochester's historic Little Italy Neighborhood), refreshing wine slushies from Thousand Islands Winery of Alexandria Bay. NY, and a variety of fresh pastas being served all day, including delicious gnocchi from the festival's Title sponsor, DeCecco Pasta from the Abruzzi region of Italy.
Headline musical entertainment includes, Mike Sifmditi, Marco Amadio, the Coupe Devilles band, NYC's Jazzy Italian Vanessa Racci, and the Ruby Shooz oldies band. Lawn Chairs Welcome!
The event will hold its famous "Spaghetti Eating Contest" at 6pm on August 15th.
The event will honor St. Anthony of Padua and the Blessed Virgin Mary on the feast day of the "Assumption" (August 15th ) at Noon, when it opens for lunch.
