Iconic Federal Hill restaurant celebrates 102 years with street renaming ceremony

As Angelo’s Restaurant marks more than 100 years on Federal Hill, community members celebrated with a ceremonial street naming on Friday. From birthdays to graduations and many other celebrations, Angelo’s has served authentic Italian comfort food for the Providence community since 1924.

“Angelo’s has persevered through the trials of history, weathering the tempest of economic hardship, including the tumultuous Great Depression,” said City Council President Rachel Miller. State and local leaders gathered outside the iconic restaurant, situated between Atwells Avenue and Mountain Street, for the unveiling of Angelo’s Way.
