ilNewyorkese has become the most-read Italian newspaper in the United States, according to an analysis reported by AmericaNews24 and based on Google Analytics data from June 2026.
The New York-based newspaper recorded 2.1 million monthly readers, establishing itself as the leading Italian newspaper in the U.S. by readership. Its digital presence extends further through social media, where its content reaches approximately 6 million people each month, despite having a proprietary community of fewer than 100,000 followers.
The result is particularly significant for the Italian-language newspaper sector in the United States, which has undergone major changes in recent decades as several historic publications have closed or reduced their operations. ilNewyorkese has built its audience by addressing both Italian Americans – including younger generations – and Italians who have moved to the United States in more recent years.
Founded in New York as a newspaper serving the Italian and Italian American communities, the publication has gradually expanded beyond its core journalistic activity, adding events, cultural and social initiatives, and audiovisual productions.
Founder Davide Ippolito credited part of the newspaper’s growth to the relationship it has developed with New York’s Italian and Italian American communities, as well as with Italian and American institutions.
The broader analysis compared foreign-language newspapers serving different communities across the United States. Korea Daily ranked as the country’s most-read foreign-language newspaper overall, followed by the Chinese-language World Journal and the historic Greek newspaper The National Herald.
Within the Italian newspaper category, ilNewyorkese’s 2.1 million monthly readers place the publication at the top of the U.S. market.
