Italy’s venture capital market entered 2026 with renewed momentum, attracting €813 million in investments during the first 6 months of the year. The capital was distributed across 145 funding rounds involving startups and innovative small and medium-sized enterprises, according to the latest quarterly analysis by Growth Capital and Italian Tech Alliance.
The total represents an increase of approximately 49% from the €545 million recorded during the same period of 2025. However, the improvement was driven primarily by larger transactions rather than by an expansion in the overall number of deals. Excluding mega-rounds, investment remained broadly consistent with the previous year.
