Italian news agency Italpress has expanded its presence in the United States with the launch of “Qui New York,” a new weekly video series hosted by Claudio Pagliara, director of the Italian Cultural Institute in New York and former longtime Rai correspondent in the U.S. The program focuses on promoting Italian culture in New York City through stories about music, film, art, literature, science, and innovation.

The initiative is part of a broader collaboration between Italpress and the Italian Cultural Institute of New York, aimed at strengthening cultural ties between Italy and the United States. According to Italpress director Gaspare Borsellino, the partnership represents another step in the agency’s international growth strategy and reinforces its commitment to showcasing Italian excellence abroad.

Pagliara, who spent more than 25 years covering international affairs for Rai from cities including New York, Beijing, Jerusalem, and Paris, took over leadership of the Institute in September 2025. Since then, he has promoted several high-profile cultural initiatives in the city, including collaborations with Carnegie Hall and literary projects connecting Italian and American publishers and universities.

The first episode of “Qui New York,” released on May 5, focused on celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States and highlighted a new partnership between the Italian Cultural Institute and Carnegie Hall. The format aims to spotlight both established Italian cultural figures and emerging talents building connections with American audiences.
