Italy is increasingly positioning its fruit and vegetable industry as a strategic international asset, combining exports, agricultural technology, sustainability, and food diplomacy into one rapidly expanding global platform.

That vision was fully on display at Macfrut 2026, the international produce trade fair held in Rimini, which has evolved far beyond a traditional agricultural exhibition into one of Europe’s leading agrifood events. 
Italy’s fruit and vegetable sector remains one of the pillars of the country’s agricultural economy.
