Italy is reinforcing its position as Europe’s powerhouse of rice innovation. Over the past 20 years, more than 430 new rice varieties have been introduced across Europe, and approximately 70% of them were developed by Italian researchers – an extraordinary figure that highlights the scientific expertise behind one of the country’s most distinctive agricultural industries.
