Italians display the strongest overall environmental awareness among the populations of 9 Western countries, according to an international survey conducted by Ipsos Doxa for Fondazione Capellino. Yet the findings reveal a significant contradiction – while Italians care deeply about nature, biodiversity loss is not among the environmental problems they mention most spontaneously.
The study surveyed 1,000 people between the ages of 18 and 75 in each participating country: Italy, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands.
