Italy promotes nature and wine tourism with new historic gardens and vineyard experiences

Italy’s landscape heritage and wine culture are taking center stage in 2026 through two initiatives that promote slow tourism, outdoor experiences, and regional identity. From historic gardens to vineyard activities, the goal is to attract travelers interested in nature, culture, and food traditions.

One of the most important developments this year concerns the Great Italian Gardens network, an association created in 1997 to promote some of the most remarkable historic gardens across Italy and Malta.
