Italy has taken center stage in the 2026 National Geographic Traveller (UK) Reader Awards, earning recognition not only as readers’ favorite destination overall but also as their leading choice for culinary travel. Rome completed an impressive showing by winning the award for best city break.
Announced on September 30, the results were based on almost 4,000 responses across 15 reader-voted categories. The awards returned after a four-year interval, offering a fresh perspective on the places and travel experiences that British readers most want to explore.
