Italy’s cultural revival drives spending, jobs and local economic growth

By: We the Italians Editorial Staff

Italian families are spending more on cultural activities, while the country’s creative industries continue to expand their contribution to employment, tourism and national economic growth. Recent figures confirm that culture is not merely a source of identity and personal enrichment – it is one of Italy’s most important productive assets.

Average household spending on cultural consumption reached €108 per month in 2026, compared with €94 in 2025. The increase of approximately 14.9% represents the highest level recorded since the pandemic and brings spending close to the €113 monthly average registered in 2019.
