A historic Christopher Columbus statue that fell into disrepair and disappeared from public view has been given a full restoration – and a new life at a Longport church. From making significant repairs to recreating pieces that were missing entirely, the significant overhaul was made possible through the dedication and support of the Knights of Columbus and the talents of an artist with extensive experience working on religious projects.
“The Christopher Columbus statue looks brand new now,” said Kenneth Cutugno, a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Margate. Cutugno has long been an active member and leader within the Knights of Columbus, having served as the former district deputy for District 49. He is also the immediate past Araneo Chapter president.
