New York hosted the screening of La Grazia, the new film by Oscar-winning director Paolo Sorrentino, at the prestigious Robin Williams Theatre – SAG-AFTRA Foundation in Manhattan. The screening was part of the Spotlight: Italy on Screen Today New York project, in collaboration with the US distributor MUBI.
The film is scheduled to be released on December 5 in U.S. theaters and on January 15 in Italian theaters following a qualifying run in December 2025.
With this event, the special project promoted by the General Directorate for Cinema and Audiovisual of the Italian Ministry of Culture, officially launched a series of screenings scheduled between November and December, aimed at promoting and supporting Italian films in the running for the 2026 Campaigns.
The initiative, produced by the Artistic Soul Cultural Associationwith the support of the Consulate General of Italy in New York and the Artistic Direction of Loredana Commonara, highlights contemporary Italian cinema, consolidating years of experience and offering the international audience the opportunity to discover the creativity, variety, and artistic excellence of Italian filmmaking.
The star of the evening presenting La Grazia was acclaimed actor Toni Servillo, Servillo engaged with the audience at the end of the screening in a Q&A moderated by film journalist Anne-Katrin Titze, providing insights into the film, his experience in the role, and the landscape of contemporary Italian cinema.
The event offered New York audiences a rare opportunity to connect with one of the icons of contemporary Italian cinema, transforming the evening into a memorable moment of dialogue and inspiration.
