Madison Opera is bringing the classic opera "Norma" to Wisconsin for the first time. Composed by Vincenzo Bellini, the opera tells a dramatic story of love, betrayal and duty set against the backdrop of a nation on the brink of revolution. Tenor Joshua Stewart is among the performers bringing the story to life.
He joined WKOW to discuss the production, his role and what audiences can expect from the landmark performance. Stewart plays the proconsul of Rome, a character caught in a complicated love triangle involving two Druid priestesses. The relationships become even more complicated when children and competing loyalties enter the picture.
