Mamma Erasmus: Sofia Corradi’s legacy of learning without borders

By: We the Italians Editorial Staff

The Erasmus program is one of the European Union’s greatest achievements – a remarkable life experience for European students who spend several months at a university in another EU country, continuing their studies while immersing themselves in a new environment away from home and outside their comfort zone. It allows them to discover different cultures and meet new people, fostering European integration and deeper connections among young people across the continent.

Such a great and fruitful achievement could only have come from the mind of an Italian – Professor Sofia Corradi, who passed away in Rome at the age of ninety-one – leaving behind one of the most important legacies in European education.
