Mentor lands first U.S. facility for Italian company

By: Molly Walsh

An Italian manufacturer is putting down roots in Lake County. Spazzolplastica has selected Mentor for its first U.S.-based production facility, adding to the city’s manufacturing footprint.  The company specializes in wire winding products, including wire basket spools, plastic spools and plastic drums. City leaders say the move reflects Mentor’s reputation as a hub for advanced manufacturing.

“We are pleased to welcome Spazzolplastica to our city and appreciate their decision to invest here,” City Manager Kenneth J. Filipiak said in a statement. “They are a dynamic company that will be a perfect fit for our integrated manufacturing community.”
