Former Providence College men's hockey national champion Nick Saracino '16 (St. Louis, Mo.) was named to Italy's roster for the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Games set to run from Feb. 5-19. Saracino becomes the second Providence College men's hockey player to participate in the Olympics for Italy, joining Gates Orlando (1992, 1994, 1998).
Other men's hockey Olympians include – Paul Guay (1984), Chris Terreri (1988) and Chris Therien (1994). Friar alumni Brian Burke (GM, 2010), Lou Lamoriello (GM, 1998) and Ron Wilson (Head Coach, 1998 & 2010) also served on the U.S. Olympic staffs in previous years. Current Friar Associate Head Coach Ron Rolston served as an assistant coach for the U.S. at the 2018 Olympics.
