Not just an Easter egg: how Italy keeps reinventing its Easter traditions

By: Francesca Bezzone

Perhaps it is simply a matter of timing, or of mood, but the familiar presence of chocolate eggs in shop windows, wrapped in bright foil and arranged in colorful displays, carries a kind of reassurance that is difficult to dismiss; sure, it is not a grand comfort, nor a solution to anything in particular, yet it remains one of those small seasonal gestures that holds strong, and is still able to bring simple happiness in our lives.
