We are proud to share that Governor Kay Ivey has officially proclaimed October 2026 as Italian American Heritage Month in the State of Alabama!
This proclamation recognizes the generations of Italian Americans who have helped shape our state, including the thousands of Italian immigrants who made Birmingham their home and contributed to the growth of our communities.
For the Italian American Heritage Society of Birmingham, this recognition is especially meaningful. Our mission is rooted in celebrating and preserving the Italian culture, history and traditions that have been passed down through generations.
Throughout October, we invite you to celebrate with us, learn more about our shared heritage and take pride in the contributions Italian Americans continue to make across Alabama.
