As Christmas approaches, two beloved Italian holiday cakes – Panettone and Pandoro – continue to be at the heart of festive celebrations across the country. These desserts are not just treats but symbols of tradition, evoking nostalgia and the spirit of the season.
Pandoro has a slight edge in popularity, with 87% of Italians saying they serve it during Christmas. However, Panettone still holds strong, with 82.8% of Italians choosing it for their holiday spread. A notable trend is that many people enjoy both cakes – around 70% indulge in both Panettone and Pandoro throughout the season.
