The U.S. U20 men’s national team had a commanding performance on Thursday, defeating Italy 3-0 to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile. Parma midfielder Benjamin Cremaschi extended his strong scoring form at the tournament with a brace, while San Jose Earthquakes’ Niko Tsakiris added a brilliant free kick.
The U.S. wasted no time establishing control of the match, taking the lead after just 15 minutes through tournament standout Cremaschi. The Inter Miami homegrown midfielder, who is currently on loan with Parma, reacted quickest after FC Dallas defender Nolan Norris saw his header cleared off the line, squeezing a close-range shot past Italian goalkeeper Jacopo Seghetti.
