Piemonte plans hydrogen valley to transform former industrial sites by 2030

By: We the Italians Editorial Staff

Northern Italy is preparing a major step in the energy transition. The Piedmont region has launched an initiative designed to transform abandoned industrial areas into hubs dedicated to the production and use of green hydrogen.

The program, called “Piemonte Hydrogen Valley,” aims to create a complete ecosystem that integrates renewable energy, hydrogen production, distribution, and industrial applications. The project is supported by a budget of 10 million euros from national funding linked to Italy’s energy transition strategy and the PNRR recovery plan.
