A plaque honoring the legacy of a trailblazing Little Italy organizer who advocated against displacement was unveiled Wednesday on the limestone facade of her lifelong Taylor Street home.
The bronze plaque commemorates the life of Florence Scala, who worked with Jane Addams to champion immigrant communities before fighting displacement due to urban renewal efforts in midcentury Chicago.
