Students in Italian language classes at the Rahway 7th and 8th Grade Academy recently celebrated Italian-American Heritage Month deliciously and festively, embracing a taste of Italian culture right in the classroom. The event featured a culinary exploration with the savory treat, arancini (fried risotto balls), and a lively game of Tombola, a traditional Neapolitan bingo.
The celebration provided students with an authentic cultural experience that extended beyond grammar and vocabulary. The focus on arancini, a staple of Sicilian street food, introduced students to the rich diversity of Italian regional cuisine.
